Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) prepared a documentary on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, assumption to power in Sharjah, under the supervision of the Government Communication Department.
The documentary reflected the values, principles and the foundation of the smiling emirate turning it into a model of renaissance and civilisation. The documentary also shed light on sports development, and the support and attention it received during the last five decades that ensured the infrastructure of the highest level of sports facilities and equipment.
On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, stated that the documentary is a symbolic initiative to express SSC celebration on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s accession to throne, at the same time, the successive scenes expressed His Highness’s association with sports from the beginning, building Sharjah with wonderful sports infrastructure and facilities.
Mr. Muhammad Ali bin Hammad, Director of the Government Communications Department, indicated that the script included important historical events, through an interesting presentation accompanied by expressive music.
The documentary starts with a snapshot of the book “Narrative of the Self” that chronicles the career of His Highness, and the pages of the book are turned over to show some students playing football in the fifties. The documentary then shows a stadium, stands and a goal with a group picture of the Sharjah team in the early beginnings, then, a picture of His Highness as a student in a scout camp with a gate entitled "The Tenth Scout Camp", and the banner of the "Annual Sports Festival".
The documentary shows clips of some of the sports that His Highness practiced, such as long and high jumps, running, jumping hurdles and cycling. The scene gradually turns into His Highness looking at the UAE flag in an Olympic forum, which includes symbols of different games, and the phrase “My family that I protect” appears below the picture, which embodies his interest in his athletic sons.
The documentary ends with a review of logo Sharjah Sports Council and the logos of Sharjah clubs, indicating their diversity their competitive and specialised fields.
