SCC’s Committee meets Sheikha Jameela to review SCHS’ services

Sharjah 24: The Family Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) reviewed the education, training and empowerment services provided by the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) to people with disabilities, in order to develop its relations with local, regional and global institutions and bodies in accordance with international best practices.
The Committee delegation was received by Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and Mona Abdul Karim, director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services.

The delegation included Her Excellency Fatima Ali Al Muhairi, chairperson of the Committee, and of His Excellency Jassim Juma Al Mazmi, Rapporteur of the Committee, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al Murr and His Excellency Muhammad Abdullah Al Raisi, and from the General Secretariat of the Council, Secretary and Media Secretary Islam Al Shewi.

Commenting on this, Her Excellency Fatima Ali Al Muhairi praised the high level reached by Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, to keep pace with the latest developments in the field of persons with disabilities around the world. Her Excellency added that the City employed its capabilities to serve students with the help of professionals who master the skills of dealing with persons with disabilities in a manner that achieves the desired results.  

Her Excellency Fatima Ali Al Muhairi said that efforts come in the framework of the support and empowerment provided by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, and the continuation of the sincere efforts of Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of the City.

During a tour of the city’s facilities, the committee was introduced to the educational and training programmes and services provided to students, to the great interest that Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services attach to assistive technologies and their role in improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities, and to the most important methods of education followed with students in line with international best practices in this regard.

Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City affirmed the city's perseverance in continuously improving the services provided to students with disabilities, pointing that the City is keen to encourage innovation and exchange expertise with different concerned authorities; urge individuals and community institutions to exercise social responsibility and consolidate principles in all fields.

Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi noted the role of the Consultative Council of Sharjah to visit Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services and to learn about its role in serving and supporting the disabled segment on a continuous basis.
