Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) supported the business community in 2021, by contributing to the growth of economic sectors, stimulating the Emirate’s trade and investment, and facilitating its growth through its success in achieving a qualitative leap in the number of new memberships.
The total number of new memberships reached 6,158, an increase of 61% over the year 2020, which is a clear indication of the vital role that the SCCI plays in representing, supporting and protecting the interests of the business community in Sharjah.
It also confirms the recovery of the local market as a result of government decisions and incentives that contributed to enhancing the confidence of establishment owners and investors in Sharjah.
According to the SCCI’s data, the number of renewed memberships reached 47,794, an increase of 4% over the previous year, and the number of free zone memberships reached 2021, bringing the total of new and renewed memberships registered during the past year to 55,973 membership, while the number of certificates of origin reached 65,404 certificates issued during 2021.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), said that the number of achievements accomplished by SCCI come thanks to the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the diligent follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
