Sharjah 24: Jassim Al Balushi, Head of Institutional Excellence at Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB), confirmed that the UAE government played a pioneering role in leading the region's digital transformation process, beginning with the provision of electronic services and progressing to smart governance, during its recent participation in the activities of the "Intersect" financial technology conference, which was held in Vienna from the 13th to the 15th of this month.
"The digital economy is a crucial pillar in the strategic initiatives of the UAE's Vision 2021 national economy," Al Balushi stated.
He shared a work paper with the audience in which he reviewed Sharjah Islamic Bank's digital transformation experience.
According to him, Sharjah Islamic Bank's digital transformation capabilities helped it win the MEA Finance Awards for best digital transformation in 2021.
Sharjah Islamic Bank's Head of Institutional Excellence, Al Balushi, and the bank's Head of Digital Banking, Waleed Al Amoudi, attended the Intersect Financial Technology Conference, which was held in Vienna, Austria, from June 13 to 15.
