Sharjah 24: A delegation from the National Crisis & Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) local team in Sharjah reviewed the preventive and precautionary measures in a number of universities in Sharjah University City, to determine the readiness of universities, and the protocol for the precautionary measures to prevent the Covid 19 virus spread, before the start of the second semester next Monday, 17 January 2022.
The inspection visit was based on the directives of the head of the NCEMA local team in Sharjah, to visit the universities of the Sharjah University City preparing for students’ return to classrooms; ensuring the safety of students, the educational and academic staff, and providing all the support required for the success of the educational process in Sharjah University City.
NCEMA local team in Sharjah, headed by Colonel Dr. Ali Abu Al Zoud, Deputy Director General of Central Operations, and his accompanying delegation, inspected the buildings and facilities in a number of educational institutions in Sharjah University City, namely the University of Sharjah, the American University, Al Qasimia University, Higher Colleges of Technology in addition to the University of Sharjah in Khorfakkan, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Khorfakkan Branch, and was briefed on the best leading practices applied in various aspects according to the highest international standards.
The preventive measures adopted by the local team include the installation of thermal cameras at entrances and exits; the development of preventive instructions and posters, including mandatory masks, and social distancing between seats in classrooms, corridors and halls; in addition to cooperation with security authorities to ensure public health and safety.
At the end of the visit, NCEMA local team in Sharjah wished that the academic year for universities would be a year of safety and security, calling on all students and educational staff to adhere to the precautionary measures that guarantee a safe and healthy education.
