Sharjah24: The Sharjah Contact Centre (SCC), in cooperation with the Sharjah Press Club of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Tuesday organised a tour of the picturesque East Coast city of Khorfakkan for a number of speakers, media professionals and guests of the second Sharjah Contact Centres Forum, which opens tomorrow, Wednesday, under the slogan "Digital Solutions… International Experiences”, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, at the Oceanic Khorfakkan Hotel.
The tour covered the most prominent landmarks, tourist attractions, heritage areas and beautiful landscape of the coastal city.
The tour began with a visit to the Rafisah Dam Rest House, guided by Eng. Khaled Omar Al Naqbi, Manager of the Sharjah Contact Centre, who offered the guests a detailed introduction about the area, its facilities and activities.
They also visited the 55-metre high man-made waterfall pouring into the lake, and areas for family gatherings and children's play areas that surround the lounge.
On the way, the guests stopped to snap pictures and group photographs in the historical village of Najd Al-Maqsar, one of the most important ancient centres of human gatherings in Wadi Shie, which is more than 100 years old. The group also visited the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the University of Sharjah, Khorfakkan campus, and the flagpole.
Abdullah Al Naqbi, Head of Operation Department at the Sharjah Contact Centre, on this occasion familiarised the guests with the role and responsibilities of the Sharjah Contact Centre and the services it provides as the main information interface and the link between customers and government agencies in all cities and regions of the Emirate. He pointed out that the Centre, which hosts 10 government entities, offers more than 10,000 active services. It operates 24 hours a day offering invaluable information and services to the people in the region.
The familiarisation tour also included a visit to the Al Hosn Museum in the Al Sharq heritage area. The guest explored its rich history and archeological attractions while enjoying a show by Emirati folk artists.
The Sharjah Contact Centres Forum, on Wednesday, will discuss modern digital trends and the growing roles and responsibilities of call centres during global crises, such as the Covid-19 challenge. The forum will examine the challenges and opportunities before the call centres industry in an age of sweeping global technological innovations and digitisation and the need to enhance and enrich customers' experiences through innovative solutions.
