SEC concludes innovators camp activities

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Education Council (SEC) concluded the activities of the innovators camp, which it organised in cooperation and partnership with the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park Free Zone (SRTI Park), with the aim of exploring and developing students' skills in design and innovation processes.
The council succeeded in organising the camp after the participation of fifty students who received a series of workshops during the camp period, within the framework of the plans and objectives of the Sharjah Education Council, contributing to strengthening the partnership with, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park Free Zone (SRTI Park), which hosted the camp at its headquarters.

The affiliates were allowed to explore new topics and learn innovative future skills, using various high-tech equipment, with several workshops specialised in design processes to form innovative products, and develop skills in several areas. These workshops are held at the SoiLAB (Sharjah Open Innovation Lab), which is the first incubator for start-ups and innovative businesses in Sharjah.

The idea of the laboratory aims to provide students, researchers and innovators with the latest technologies and modern and innovative machines in several different fields and specialisations.

Commenting on this, Dr. Saeed Mosbeh Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council stressed the importance of the camp in enhancing the students' abilities in the areas of innovation. He highlighted the 

Al-Kaabi referred to the SRTI Park's cooperation in implementing the camp, contributing in instilling the culture of creativity and innovation among fifty students, emphasising that the camp achieved its goals and desired results.

In turn, His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the Sharjah Innovation Park, has highlighted the importance of educating the students in several fields, as one of the goals of the SRTI Park.

In this regard, Al Mahmoudi explained that the workshops and programs were carefully selected with the Care and Activities Department of the Sharjah Education Council, with the aim of benefiting and promoting a culture of teamwork. He has further invited the parents to take the initiative to register their children in these camps.
