Sharjah 24: The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS)'s Kalba branch opened the virtual forum: "Services provided to people with disabilities in government institutions in Kalba", on Wednesday, in cooperation with the University of Sharjah (UoS)'s Kalba branch.
Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, confirmed that the SCHS, since it began its work in 1979, has faced great challenges, and perhaps one of the most important of these challenges is to ensure that services reach the people of the Emirate of Sharjah, regardless of their locations.

Her Excellency highlighted that the Kalba branch translated the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, since its opening on November 15, 2006.

Her Excellency maintained that His Highness affirmed that Sharjah is continuing to provide care and attention for persons with disabilities, and seeks to provide services that enable them to become active members of society.

Her Excellency added that more than 15 years have passed since the opening of the Kalba branch, within the activities of the virtual forum, all participants celebrate the joint achievement with supporting institutions, emphasising their active role in enabling persons with disabilities.

The Director General of the SCHS referred to His Highness' announcement that 2022 will be the year of Kalba, calling on everyone on this occasion to jointly contribute to the development vision of the Emirate of Sharjah in general and the city of Kalba in particular.

The event witnessed the series of sessions that addressed challenges and topics related to providing services to people with disabilities.
