Sharjah 24: The Economic, Industrial and Financial Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) approved, during a virtual meeting, the axes for discussing the policy of the Sharjah Seaports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, during the next session, on Thursday.
The Economic, Industrial and Financial Affairs Committee of the SCC discussed, with a number of council members, the various tasks and competencies of the authority, and the related roles and efforts to develop the business sector and accommodate the increasing trade movement through Sharjah ports and free zones.
The attendees touched on the authority's constructive contributions in the field of business development, services and infrastructure in seaports, customs centres, ports, border points and their free zones, through optimal use of technical and human resources, and providing all services and facilitating them for customers and investors.
The meeting reviewed ideas and visions that would create an attractive investment environment in the free zones of the authority, in accordance with the best international standards. In addition to the various roles and plans of the authority, to organise maritime navigation operations and maritime transport activities in the Emirate.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the committee approved the axes of discussion, questions and inquiries that will be presented to the SCC, during the discussion of the authority’s policy next Thursday.
