Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Foundation to support pioneering Entrepreneurs and the Sharjah Education Council have announced the start of registration for school and university students across the country to participate in the seventh edition of the annual community initiative (Business Stars) in 2021, which will take place from November 23 to December 5, 2021.
The initiative aims to introduce Emirati pupils of both sexes between the ages of 10 and 21 to self-employment and to train the future generation of entrepreneurs. This year's project will begin on Thursday, December 16, and will run through Saturday, December 25, in Sharjah's Kashisha Park in the Al Rahmaniyah neighbourhood.
Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of the "Ruwad," stated that the initiative is making a comeback following a one-year hiatus. As a result of precautionary and preventive measures taken to avert the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the years 2020 and 2021, the initiative has been able to establish an ideal practical platform for promoting the concept of entrepreneurship among students in collaboration with school and university administrations since its inception in 2014.
The programme drew 132 male and female students from a variety of institutions and colleges, and 49 ideas were presented, generating a total of 128,294 dirhams.
Muhammad Ahmad Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Education Council, emphasised that this greater community initiative has assisted numerous students in investing their talents and passion in the field of entrepreneurship, and that the initiative is consistent with the government's promising directions.
