Sharjah24: The participants of the discussion session "A Promising Step Towards a Sustainable Future - the Agricultural Sector and Food Security" organised by the Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects "Ruwad" affiliated to Sharjah Economic Development Department recommended supporting the participation of Emirati small and medium enterprises, and emphasised the availability of many opportunities for Emirati entrepreneurs to expand their contribution to the national economy through this sector.
This came during the fourth session of the "Miles Rowad" initiative organised by the Foundation at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park where Sheikha Al Muallem from the Training, Research and Events Department presented it. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Agricultural Development and Health Department from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and Faisal Al Naboodah, Director of the Department of Climate Change and Environment spoke.
Building on that, His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Director of “Ruwad”, affirmed that choosing the agricultural sector and food security as a topic for discussion in the fourth “Miles Ruwad” comes in recognition of the wide opportunities that this sector offers for Emirati entrepreneurs, especially that topic comes in line with the UAE's visions towards sustainable food production and ensuring its safety and availability.
Al Mahmoud pointed out that "Miles Ruwad" initiative was launched in 2020 aimed at enhancing the Foundation's efforts to support and expand its services provided to Emirati entrepreneurs in the emirate, by providing an effective and interactive platform that will be a rich and active link between entrepreneurs, including members of the Foundation from owners projects and also those wishing to enter the world of entrepreneurship.
