Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality announced the decoration of different main streets and squares to celebrate the United Arab Emirates’ 50th National Day.

Sharjah Municipality installed beautiful geometric light shapes with the flag colours, and words expressing love, loyalty and pride on the Union Day, which is a timeless occasion on which the UAE has become a global model in development, growth, construction and prosperity.

Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council, stressed that this occasion is a source of happiness and pride for the progress achieved over the past 50 years, and decorating streets, squares and different facilities will enhance the sense of belonging to the UAE.

Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, explained that decorating streets and squares reflects the municipality’s strategic role in sharing the community celebrations, and spreading joy and happiness throughout the city of Sharjah. 

Al Tunaiji stated that teams made great efforts to install decorations in different regions and to cover the main streets and squares, to show the emirate in the best way as always, especially during the celebrations of the UAE’s 50th National Day.

The Director General of Sharjah Municipality indicated that Sharjah National Park hosts Sharjah celebrations on this remarkable occasion, whereas it was closed by the municipality for a short period to complete all the necessary preparations for a successful event.
