Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) planted 35 seedlings of the “Ghaf” (Prosopis cineraria) in the front yard of its main building and other branches in Sharjah, celebrating the International Day for Tolerance, on November 16.
Sumaya Al Hosani, Director of the SSSD's Human Resources Department, stated that the SSSD is keen to celebrate the Day of Tolerance annually. The reason behind choosing the Ghaf is that it embraces the essence of tolerance in the UAE’s culture.
She added that the UAE is an exemplary model of tolerance, for it hosts more than 200 nationalities, and they all live in harmony and peace.
