Sharjah24: Stemming from its keenness to spread the culture of exercising among new generations, especially after recovering from the Corona virus, the Sharjah Education Council (SEC) organised ‘Let's Walk’ initiative with the partnership with a number of institutions.
Taking place at Al Zahia Center in Sharjah, the council strived to spread the culture of exercise and urge different segment of society to participate in the event and to promote the concept of sports as a lifestyle.
‘Let's Walk’ event was held on Sunday on the occasion of the International Walking Day under the supervision of the Early Childhood Department with the aim of encouraging children of government nurseries and adults to engage in physical activity.
Mohamed Ahmed Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Education Council stressed that the event includes the goals and visions of the Sharjah Education Council to promote positive lifestyle that reflect public health. Al Mulla highlighted the importance of this event not only at the sports and health level, but also at the societal and educational level as well.
Al Mulla explained that the event was held in partnership with a number of entities, namely the Sharjah Municipal Council, the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, the Human Resources Department, the Social Services Department, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the Parents’ Council for male and female students in the city of Sharjah, the Sharjah Consultative Council, the Sharjah Police General Command, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
