Sharjah 24: According to Sharjah Charity International (SCI), the Dirham Al Hamd (Grateful Dirham), initiative, which is based on a daily dirham deduction from Etisalat and Du subscribers, has contributed to the implementation of charitable and humanitarian projects both inside and outside the country for a total cost of AED16.5 million.
The Executive Director, Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, urged benefactors to join and subscribe to the Dirham Al Hamd service, noting that the entire value of the donation reaches the SCI to be delivered to its beneficiaries who benefit from various types of aids, such as study aids or financial support for the needy, mosque construction, and food projects.

According to a report, Dirham Al Hamd donors helped provide food for over 500 needy families, and the SCI was able to assist many low-income residents of the Emirate of Sharjah, establish three desalination plants in Egypt, and treat many patients within the country, as well as establishing housing units in remote areas in the countries covered by the SCI's projects and works.

The advantages of Dirham Al Hamd activities were disseminated across Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, South Africa, India, Liberia, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Chad, Zimbabwe, Bosnia, Egypt, Sudan, and Kenya, according to the report.

During the Corona outbreak, the group sponsored "remote learning" programmes by donating laptops to students, as well as offering different medical devices to the Al Thiqah Club for the Disabled.

The service also included sponsoring the Hajj and Umrah initiatives and allowing many individuals with less resources to conduct Hajj and Umrah.

Those who want to contribute to Dirham Al Hamd campaign can do so by texting 1110 for Etisalat customers and 1011 for du customers.
