Sharjah 24: His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended the launch of the Digital Security Library, on Thursday, at the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), in cooperation with a number of volunteer organisations in Sharjah, and in the presence of Brigadier General Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi, Director of the Police Research Centre (SPRC), Colonel Ali Al Dabbahi, Deputy Director of SPRC, and a number of officers in the Sharjah Police General Command.
The library was launched in conjunction with the opening of the 40th SIBF, and within Sharjah Police General Command keenness to keep up with the electronic boom and the digital development in the UAE in general, and Sharjah, in particular.

His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer confirmed that Sharjah Police General Command is keen to adopt initiatives and projects that support the movement of security culture, publication and knowledge, in cooperation with partners from voluntary bodies, noting the importance of this cooperation in keeping pace with digital development and improving services provided to the public to achieve the quality of life for citizens and residents.

Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi indicated that the “Digital Security Library” project comes in line with the UAE government’s movement towards digital transformation of services provided to the public, which will serve a wide range of scholars, readers, researchers and those around the world interested in valuable security experiences.

Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi revealed the number of books targeted by the project amount to 22600 books. He also thanked the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, which made an effective contribution to the success of the 120-month project (220 hours per month) and assigned 20 volunteers.
