Sharjah 24: A number of officials from Kalba government departments expressed their overwhelming happiness celebrating Flag Day as an affirmation their lifelong loyalty and belonging to the United Arab Emirates and its wise leadership, and pride of the UAE flag that symbolises its independence and union.
In the presence of Dr. Suleiman Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of Kalba Municipal Council, Kalba departments and institutions celebrated Flag Day, on Wednesday, where the ceremony was held in Kalba Flag Square.
A large crowd of officials, representatives and employees of different government departments participated in the event, organised by Kalba municipality, in cooperation with the municipal council and a number of departments.
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Chairman of Kalba Municipal Council said that what distinguishes Flag Day celebration this year is that all activities of the different departments were convened in one place.
Dr. Suleiman Sarhan Al Zaabi added that Flag Day is a very dear occasion to the hearts of Emiratis, to recall the sincere efforts of the founding fathers, and the wise leadership that made tremendous accomplishments.
His Excellency Hashem Al Bairaq, Vice Chairman of the Council, said that Flag Day is a day of glory and honour, in which everybody stands before the raised flag, which symbolises independence, strength and interdependence.
Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, Director of Kalba Municipality, stressed that Flag Day is a historic national occasion, especially this year, precisely because half a century of the glorious union is celebrated setting an example of the UAE renaissance in many fields.
Mohammed Saleh Al Suwaiji, Director of the Eastern Region Management at the Sharjah Department of Culture (DC), said that Flag Day is a great occasion, in which everybody remembers the country's past, prosperous present, and bright future, whereas celebrating Flag Day is an expression of loyalty and belonging.
Khaled Ibrahim, Director of the Real Estate Registration Department Branch, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to the leadership and people of the UAE on the occasion of Flag Day, which is the start of the major national celebrations of the glorious union and the remarkable achievements of the UAE.
