Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority celebrated Flag Day

Sharjah24: The Department of Civil Aviation Sharjah and the Sharjah Airport Authority celebrated Flag Day, which takes place annually on 3 November. The event, which aims to connect the people of the homeland in a joint activity that emphasises national unity and belonging, was commemorated in conjunction with government, private institutions and other departments throughout the country. It conveyed a distinctive national atmosphere and was celebrated to the tune of the UAE national anthem.
Symbol of belonging and loyalty
The celebration began with raising the UAE flag, a symbol of belonging, loyalty and love, in the presence of a number of employees from both sides and representatives of the strategic partners at the Sharjah airport.

On this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Issam Al Qassimi, said: “Organising this annual celebration of raising the UAE flag on the 3 November reflects the extent of love, appreciation and belonging that both citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates, as well as its wise leadership, have shown for the sake of the renaissance, unity and sovereignty of this dear nation. Over the past fifty years, our leadership has been keen to build a strong, coherent, and developed nation, which has become a model for all other countries in terms of progress, development, tolerance, humanity, and prosperity. The vision for the next fifty years follows the same approach; to consolidate the position of the UAE in various international forums, to provide a decent life for the people of the UAE, and to ensure leadership, creativity and innovation.”

His Excellency added: “This Country deserves all our love, sincerity, loyalty and effort in order to protect our great achievements that we have made in the previous years, and we are keen to keep the flag raising high to accompany the ambitious vision of the UAE as it looks forward to a prosperous future.”
 
Celebrating 50 years of achievements and successes
His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “The celebration of Flag Day is of great significance this year, as it coincides with our celebration of the UAE’s Golden Jubilee. It symbolizes fifty years of achievements and successes, during which the UAE topped many global indicators. It also inaugurates fifty new years of societal, human and economic development, which will contribute to strengthening the UAE’s global position in various fields.”

His Excellency added: “Our celebration of Flag Day reinforces our authentic values, develops the spirit of one team, and supports our positive energies towards work and achievement. It bolsters us to achieve our strategic goals and the future aspirations and vision of the UAE, where societal and institutional pride are manifested. Flag Day represents a national commitment to renewed loyalty in the wise leadership that has achieved the highest standards of growth and prosperity for our country. The UAE flag is an immortal symbol of pride, peace and security.”

Flag Day is a national occasion celebrated by the UAE on 3 November each year, in tribute to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him. The event symbolizes the unity and sovereignty of the state and its civilisational and human achievement.
