Sharjah 24: As part of its collaboration with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council hosted an eligibility course for a certificate in operating a small boat at its Sharjah headquarters.
This comes with the goal of qualifying participants and granting them a driving permit. It was attended by more than 80 participants in order to increase security and safety measures in the marine environment, while also preventing mishaps. The training was free for the fishermen that attended.
The Chairman of Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council, a number of council’s members, and representatives from the Environment and Protected Areas Authority were present at the event.
Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Council, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the authority, its chairperson, Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, and the ministry for their efforts in bringing this course to life and for their consideration for fishermen's concerns, emphasising the council's support for all efforts aimed at serving fishermen and all members of society.
