Sharjah 24: SANED Facilities Management Company, owned by Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, organised an awareness training workshop targeting its employees, staff and all its contractors, to refine their expertise and awareness of the need for safety and security. The training covered first aid basics, which may contribute to saving human life, and mitigating repercussions of an injury as a result of an accident or a health emergency.
The workshop touched on the importance and priority of security and safety for all, at various work sites, and focused on the steps of first aid, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The trainers explained at length the team member obligation to apply all precautionary measures, directions and instructions that contribute to everyone’s protection and safety.

Sultan Al Ketbi, CEO of SANED company, said; “The health and safety of our staff, employees, partners and customers is a top priority, and we are constantly keen on organizing training and awareness sessions, given their importance in protecting individuals and properties.”

Al Ketbi pointed out that as part of its interest in providing an appropriate and decent work environment for workers and implementing legislation that guarantees their rights, SANED had also organized an awareness campaign on public safety in the summer. It included identifying the risks that workers may be exposed to, such as fatigue and stress, taking the necessary preventive measures to protect them from the dangers of labour, especially under high temperatures. The training organisers ensured that everyone was reached at all relevant locations, including all sites managed by SANED, and expanded the campaign to reach building and construction companies.

Additionally, during the summer months, SANED  adheres to the decision of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, related to the prohibition of working under the sun, for 3 hours a day, between 12:30 and 3:30 in the afternoon, until mid-September, in the interest of the health and safety of its workers and staff. This directive shows the state’s keenness to provide the best suitable conditions and international standards for all workers.

Knowing that the UAE is one of the first Arab countries to emphasize in its legislations and decisions the protection of workers, making this decision welcomed by the employees, as well as by companies and institutions operating in various locations, which are ensuring effective implementation because of its importance in the protection and safety of workers.
