Sharjah24 : Young creatives and aspiring animators were introduced to the world of animation at a workshop titled ‘Storytelling with Majid - Case Study: The Fteen Reboot’, held on the sidelines of the 8th edition of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth (SIFF 2021).
SIFF’s virtual Kids Studio platform hosted Majid TV trainer and director Ahmad Mohammed Tayseer who gave the rapt audience tips on creating engaging universal characters to narrate entertaining stories. He also detailed the technical process of creating an animation film, showcasing the hands-on approach applied in the making of season two of ‘The Fteen Reboot’.
Tayseer said that once the script is ready, the director takes over, creating storyboards and mood boards to get an initial outline. Based on the story board, the design department creates the characters and fleshes out elements of the story that helps the animation team create the animations for the episodes. The final stage involves adding voice-overs and audio and visual effects.
Organised by FUNN - Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children, SIFF 2021 is hosting more than 80 films from 38 countries, including 6 world premieres, 35 Middle East and 3 GCC premieres, and four films being shown for the first time in the UAE.
