Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) recently launched the new issue of "Marawed" magazine, which covers a wide range of issues.
The new issue commemorated the Sharjah International Narrator Forum's 21st session by dedicating a special portfolio to the main forum's events, including activities, workshops, publications, and numerous essays regarding animal fables in Emirati, Arab, and international heritage.
“The latest issue of “Marawed” magazine honours, the twenty-first session of the Sharjah International Narrator Forum (September 22-30), and its theme, animal fables," stated Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the SIH and the Magazine's Editor-in-Chief. "The issue covered the proceedings of the forum's most recent session, during which Sudan was recognised as a guest of honour for its contributions to cultural heritage, as well as the diverse intellectual and cultural programme featuring a group of experts, researchers, and writers from 40 countries around the world," he added.
Dr. Mouni Bounama, Editorial Manager and the institute's Director of Content and Publishing, stated "animal fables engaged a large number of authors, and that there are numerous specialised and general books dealing with fables."
He underlined that Abdullah ibn al-Muqaffa, author of "Kalila Wa Dimna," is the pioneer in this topic in the Arab heritage.
The issue addressed qualitative methods to animal personification in Emirati, Arab, and international cultural heritage.
