Sharjah 24: The UAE karate national team and Sharjah Sports Club, Marwan Al Mazmi, is preparing for a month-long preparatory camp in Istanbul, Turkey, to participate in the Karate World Championships, hosted by Dubai in November.
The camp is a cooperation with the Turkish Karate Federation, where a group of Turkish players with achievements in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will participate in the camp, in addition to a group of notable karate trainers.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the SSC, stated that the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah regarding individual sports are clear. The main goal is to raise the UAE flag in all tournaments. The SSC always motivates and supports clubs for them to develop their players.
Eng. Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Club and Head of the Individual Games Department, commended the plans of the SSC and its constant support to individual games.
Eng. Humaid Shamis Al Zarooni, member of the Individual Games Department at Sharjah Club, explained that training with world champions would grant Marwan Al Mazmi a great amount of experience which will help in preparing for the Karate World Championships in Dubai and the Asian Championships in Kazakhstan.
