Sharjah 24: The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the UAE Girl Guides Association, chaired the meeting of the General Assembly of the UAE Girl Guides Association, at Al Badea Al Amer Palace.
This came in the presence of Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, members of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, whose work ended this year.
Her Highness confirmed that the guiding movement had left a prominent impact on the generations, as it carried the responsibility of providing support to girls and promoting noble values and important life experiences.
Her Highness stated this implantation would not have been fruitful without their efforts through initiatives and programmes, reinforcing the message of the guiding movement in the community by creating a leading and responsible generation.
Her Highness noted that this proceed in a path established by specific strategies and a fixed methodology based on the formation of young energies that bear the responsibility of sustaining the Emirati guiding movement with the highest standards as a partner in building society.
Her Highness extended her deep thanks to the members of the Board of Directors of the UAE Girl Guides Association, whose term of office has expired, for the efforts made, and for the work that contributed to the development of work in the association.
In her speech, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi congratulated the members of the new board on the occasion of their election to lead the work of the association for the period from 2021-2025, wishing the board success in carrying out its duties.
For her part, Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, said: "The meeting of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, raised the spirit of the elected members of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Girl Guides Association, to adopt the task of developing and strengthening the role of the guiding movement."
Her Excellency commended the role played by the association and thanked its efforts, saying: "We wish all success to the UAE Girl Guides Association in its upcoming mission, as its role is essential and has a strong impact on the UAE society, and we hope to see in the near future direct cooperation with all concerned authorities to continue supporting the girl guides' journey."
