Sharjah 24: The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah participated with a paper in the 26th conference held by the International Women’s Empowerment and Capacity Building Organisation "Empower" in Kuwait, under the title "Family roles during the distance education experience from crisis to guidance and coexistence".
Her Excellency Dr. Khawla Abdulrahman Hassan Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) in Sharjah, represented SCFA in the recently held conference via visual communication technology, which witnessed the participation of top officials from various countries.

Her Excellency presented a paper entitled “Reading in the Emirati Experience”, in which she reviewed the distinguished policies and procedures followed by the UAE in light of the pandemic, after it had proven its success in the distance education experience.

Her Excellency highlighted the efforts undertaken by SCFA in light of the pandemic, through the follow-up of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) In Sharjah.

Her Excellency touched on the elements of the distance education experience in the UAE, identifying its excellence in providing the possibilities for a smooth transition from face-to-face learning to distance learning by designing and implementing plans to link the parties to the educational process through the smart learning portal of the Ministry of Education.

Her Excellency stressed that the transition from the crisis stage to guidance and coexistence requires keeping pace with the changes, pointing out that the family role in this transition will remain hostage to what is given to it, along with the managing of awareness.

Her Excellency added that the transition also requires planning for more mature strategies that address all elements of the educational community in general and the family community in particular.

It is noteworthy that the International Women’s Empowerment and Capacity Building Organisation (Empower) was established in the United Kingdom and is based in London. It works to develop women's capabilities through various development programmes. It also seeks to enhance the role of women in leadership and achieving sustainable development goals to reach peaceful and inclusive societies and provide access to justice for all.
