Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) organised a virtual trip to Al Shindagha Museum in Dubai, which is considered a tourist attraction par excellence, as it tells the history of the region and the history of the house of Al Maktoum, Dubai’s ruling family.
The trip was virtual, due to the Corona pandemic, but it was not without excitement and suspense for this place dates back to the late 19th century (1862) because it included the houses of the ruling family and notables of Dubai, and for its strategic location overlooking Dubai Creek. The trip lasted for two weeks, where elderly and orphans enjoyed it.
Maha Al Ali, Director of Government Communications at the SSSD, stressed the importance of cultural and social activities the department organises for its members, for entertaining and educational purposes.
Al Ali added that this virtual trip came out of our keenness to provide care for all its affiliates, and in line with the department's policy to integrate different age groups in community activities. This comes as community participation, as a consolidation of the importance of social solidarity among members of society, and as a guarantee for these groups’ well-being and happiness.
