Sharjah24: The Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah has explored ways to boost bilateral relations between the emirate and cities of South Korea in several sectors, particularly culture and economy.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of DGR, met with HE Moon Byung-Jun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, to explore potential areas where cooperation can be strengthened between the two parties. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi, Director of DGR.
Sheikh Fahim showcased Sharjah’s continued efforts to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding between the emirate and South Korean cities, including the hosting of exhibitions and cultural events. He also highlighted the emirate’s potential to showcase South Korea’s culture to the world.
The Chairman also highlighted the business and investment potential Sharjah can offer to its South Korean counterparts, emphasising that the emirate was keen on strengthening its international partnerships in sustainable development.
“The cultural legacies of both Sharjah and South Korean cities are prominent, and offer a strong foundation upon which lucrative opportunities for bilateral collaboration can be explored, especially in the creative industries,” Sheikh Fahim concluded.
Hailing the strong human and economic ties between Sharjah and South Korea, HE Moon Byung-Jun commended the emirate’s vision to drive sustainable development in the UAE and the Arab World via its cultural project founded on promoting knowledge exchange, art and creative dialogue. This unique approach, he noted, had transformed Sharjah into a leading destination for tourism and investment.
