Sharjah 24: The Municipal Council of Al Bataeh District held the first meeting at the beginning of the first regular session of the seventeenth annual term at the headquarters of the Municipal Council, and in presence of His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Abdullah Salumeh Al Ketbi, Director of Al Bataeh Municipality and all members of the Municipal Council according to the Emiri Decree No. (34) of 2021 issued by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah inviting the municipal councils to convene.

Mohammed Abdullah bin Halis Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council at Al Bataeh District inaugurated the meeting extending thanks, gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his generosity that delighted the hearts of citizens and residents in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, and keenness to provide a decent life for all citizens. Al Ketbi extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, for his continous follow-up.

The Chairman and members of the Council also congratulated His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Abdullah Salumeh Al Ketbi, Director of Al Bataeh Municipality on his appointment as Director of the Municipality of Al Bataeh. 

Abdullah Sultan Abdullah Salumeh Al Ketbi confirmed that team work is important, and must be in coordination and  cooperation with the Municipal Council of Al Bataeh to serve the Emirate of Sharjah and achieve the aspirations and needs of the people in Al Bataeh.


The council discussed the topics of the meeting agenda, reviewing the Emiri Decree No. (34) of 2021 issued by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah inviting the municipal councils to convene.

Bin Halis reviewed the outlines of the strategic plan of the Municipal Council and the executive action plan aimed at activating the system of joint work and cooperation with Al Bataeh Municipality. The strategic plan also aims to provide the best services, facilitate all procedures to meet the needs of the residents of Al Bataeh, cooperate with all government departments to achieve the public interest, comprehensive growth and development throughout Al Bataeh.  The goal is to turn Al Bataeh into a cultural and heritage centre by hosting and holding a number of cultural events, as well as an important commercial and industrial hub, taking advantage of its distinguished geographical location.

In the end of the meeting, the council discussed the committees’ work reports during the previous period, and the council praised the committees’ role in meeting the citizens’ needs, confirming that work should continue to provide the best and fastest services to the people of the Ald Bataeh.
