Sharjah 24: The second stage of the UAE Special Olympics Basketball Competition, conducted in partnership with the "Jam" Basketball Academy as part of its plan to develop 3X3 basketball, completed on Saturday at the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled.
Dr. Abdul Razzaq Ahmed Bani Rashid, Chairman of the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled's Board of Directors, expressed his delight at the club's hosting of basketball contest, praising the East Coast clubs' active and distinguished involvement.

He acknowledged to Sharjah 24 that the club, in collaboration with the organizing and participating authorities, took strict preventive measures to avoid the Corona virus during the events.

He believes that the competition, in addition to serving as a warm-up for the Summer World Games in Berlin in 2023, will pave the way for the gradual resumption of sporting activities for persons with disabilities.

Bani Rashid noted that the Special Olympics are important to the Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled because they provide incentive for the Paralympic Games.

He indicated that the club is prepared to compete in the Asian Youth Championship in Bahrain in December, as well as the West Asian Championship in Bahrain in February 2022.
