Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, praised the environmental richness of the Emirate of Sharjah represented in natural reserves, eco-touristic projects and areas of ecological and biological diversity.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed lauded the unlimited efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in preserving the environment in Sharjah through launching environmental initiatives and tourism projects that contribute to preserving the nature of the city.
The Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on the initiative through a visual presentation presented at SBA's headquarters. The initiative will be implemented in cooperation with Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), Sharjah Police General Command, Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas (SEPA), Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and in partnership with several international institutions.
The initiative is a film making for Sharjah Safari project and Sir Bu Nair Island to document all the environmental details in order to preserve the natural life of these sites.
The Sharjah Safari project, located at Al Bardi Reserve in Al Dhaid , will take visitors to an exciting pioneering experience in the wild life as it is the first and largest safari outside Africa.
Sir Bu Nair Island is one of the main marine reserves in the United Arab Emirates and the Arabian Gulf as it includes many environmental elements such as natural plants and sea birds.
The launch of the initiative was attended by His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority; Mohammed Hasan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority ; His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, General Director of Sharjah Government Media Bureau and Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC).
