Sharjah 24: The discussion on the upcoming 22nd edition of the ‘Experts Talk Show’ (ETS), a social awareness platform sponsored by Salem Ahmad Almoosa Enterprises, will highlight the role of parents in ensuring a successful and safe return of their children to school.
The latest episode will be held on September 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm, graced by a group of experts including His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabeh Al Kaabi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of Sharjah Education Council; and Dr. Ehab Majed, mental health and family counseling consultant.
The highly acclaimed virtual show aims to focus its next edition on the best practices to guarantee the children's access to education in a healthy, safe and secure environment as well as the critical role of parents in the children’s psychological and educational journey. The show will be hosted by Alharith Almoosa, Vice Chairman of Falconcity of Wonders, and the panel discussion will be moderated by Jassim Al Bastaki, an economic affairs researcher.
His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabeh Al Kaabi said: “The episode will cover the side effects of the pandemic to children and parents alike, and how this crisis impacted education. Several children today need assistance, support and guidance, which requires proper coordination between parents and school administration. We also want to express appreciation to the people who organized this show and the panel of experts, as it will be a great help for our parents and students.”
“Informative shows such as this is in line with our commitment at the Sharjah Education Council to launch initiatives on best educational services with the highest standards in accordance with the vision and directive of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah,” Al Kaabi noted.
Alharith Almoosa said: “The Experts Talk Show series has succeeded in establishing its role as a leading educational and awareness platform in addressing critical issues in our society. On our next episode, we want to shed light on concerns regarding students’ safety as they return to school, and how parents are addressing them including preparing them mentally as they rejoin the classroom.”
Almoosa added: "This is the perfect time to discuss the topic as we transition from e-learning to face-to-face classroom setup. Going back to the physical classroom entails efforts from our students and may cause stress and anxiety. And this transition may cause behavioral changes, for example in their attention span, and how will they adapt to a setup that requires higher concentration. The show seeks to discuss all these and how parents can support and help their children at this crucial stage.”
For his part, Dr. Ehab Majed stressed the importance of psychological support during this critical period. “There is a great need to provide the children a healthy and stimulating educational environment. Consultations with specialists will be a great help in this area. We should encourage our children to express their anxiety, frustrations and even enthusiasm, to achieve psychological and emotional balance. This is a critical stage for them, and we can help them achieve academic excellence and mental health by listening to what they feel,” he added.
