Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Education Council (SEC) revealed its plan to conduct a procedural research, through which it aims to examine a number of behavioural problems among a sample of students of the first and second cycles in schools in the Emirate of Sharjah.
This research comes to develop remedial frameworks based on offering programmes and activities that work to treat them within a special educational format.

SEC affirmed that it will work to present this research study in cooperation with the Research Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sharjah and in the framework of its partnerships with a number of entities, including the University of Sharjah, Sharjah Public Library, Ministry of Education, Sharjah Educational Zone, schools of the Emirate of Sharjah and cooperating bodies with the University of Sharjah during the conduct of the research.

His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council (SEC), stated that SEC aims to launch a project of procedural research based on scientific and theoretical foundations on behaviours. This comes in process of continuing to implement its competencies related to the educational field, and in support of the plans undertaken by the Research and Training Department in SEC.

His Excellency maintained that the idea of the project falls in conducting a research study on the behavioural problems of a sample of students of the first and second cycle in schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, in order to develop a treatment plan by providing activities that contribute to reducing these problems.

His Excellency confirmed that the results of this research project would be added to SEC's series of programmes and activities, which achieve a desired benefit for the students in those two stages, stressing that the idea of the project in its entirety enhances the function of education.

For her part, Aisha Ahmed Al Jarman, Director of the Care and Activities Department at the Sharjah Education Council (SEC), pointed out that the idea of a procedural research project achieves SEC’s strategic goals, which are to develop religious, national, cultural and health awareness in the community. It also works to create an educational environment that stimulates innovation and scientific research, as well as providing equal opportunities in education.

Al Jarman indicated that the target of this modern study is to take a stratified random sample consisting of schools in the Emirate of Sharjah, which includes (150) male and female teachers from (20) public schools distributed over (10) schools for males, (10) schools for females, and (150) teachers from private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah.

In this regard, she highlighted that the desired objectives of conducting the research are to achieve eight goals, which are to identify the forms of behavioural problems among students of the first and second cycles from the point of view of teachers in the schools of the Emirate of Sharjah. In addition to identifying the different nature of behavioural problems among students of the first and second cycles, according to gender.

She added that among those goals is to identify the different nature of behavioural problems according to the different school stage and the type of school (public, private) in order to strengthen the institutional reputation in the field of scientific research, and the function of scientific research in promoting SEC’s services. This will be useful in offering programmes, activities and workshops aimed at addressing the latest developments in the educational and psychological fields in the light of the results of the study.
