Sharjah Police honours female employees on 'Emirati Women's Day'

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police celebrated Emirati Women’s Day, held this year under the slogan “Women: Ambitions & Inspiration for Next 50 Years" at the Sharjah Police Science Academy.
The celebration was in line with the UAE celebration, under the generous patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Athmni, Director General of Sharjah Police Science Academy (SPSA), Colonel Amina Bakhit Al Shouq, Director of the Human Resources Department at Sharjah Police, Colonel Mona Sorour, Deputy Director of the Punitive and Correctional Department, and a number of officers. 

His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi said that this day celebrates the honourable achievements of UAE women in various fields, appreciating their effective role in the development of the UAE. Emirati women reached such a position thanks to the approach of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was keen to empower women in different fields, and the wise continuation of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for taking the same approach.

His Excellency Al Shamsi extended his warmest congratulations to the “Mother of the Emirates”, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, and to Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, praising the unlimited support of their Highnesses to Emirati women, and the continuous motivation to reach the most prestigious jobs in various fields, which enhances their position in society as a partner in the development process.

His Excellency Major General Al Shamsi added that Emirati Women’s Day is a historic day celebrating women as partners in development and a support for the nation, especially those who are among the frontlines facing the pandemic, such as doctors, teachers, volunteers, and others. 

The celebration included a panel discussion moderated by Umniah Abdulaziz from the Media and Public Relations Department at Sharjah Police, hosting a group of female Emirati athletes, to talk about the role of Emirati women in development, and how to face professional difficulties, in addition to talking about their achievements at the sports level.

Major General Al Shamsi concluded by honouring a number of female members who obtained the golden membership of the Sharjah Police Officers Club.
