Sharjah24: Al Hamriyah District Council (AHDC) highlighted the various roles of youth and the national responsibility that they have in continuing to support the efforts made by state institutions to preserve the marine environment, and the Council intensified informing young people and listening to their roles regarding the sustainability of fisheries.
This came during the dialogue session organised by Al Hamriyah Council at its headquarters and coinciding with the International Youth Day, where young people from the region and those concerned with the fishing profession called for it and discussed them in a number of themes.
At the beginning of the dialogue session, Saif Bouvier Al Shamsi, Chairman of Al Hamriyah Council, welcomed the attendees, pointing out that the council is keen to educate young people and listen to their views on their roles in this important topic, which forms part of the special environment of the Hamriyah region, which is the marine environment.
After that, the attendees discussed a number of themes moderated by Council member Dr. Sultan Al Shamsi, and the attendees put forward their views on the great interest of the marine environment on the part of the wise leadership and concerned state institutions, and addressing all efforts made to protect the marine environment and its wealth.
During the dialogue session, many proposals and opinions were put forward that fit into the title of the session and its axes, which called at the end of the importance of supporting the state represented by the authorities concerned with fishing, in addition to continuing permanent coordination with the fishermen and the associations concerned with them regarding the fishing seasons and the provision of all needs.
It was also suggested to strengthen continuous coordination with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority regarding the formation of work teams of fishermen to protect the marine environment, confirming the fishermen's commitment to using the permitted fishing tools, and implementing and setting up an awareness workshop for labor entitled "Protection of the Marine Environment."
