During the meeting
Sharjah 24: The Organisational Committee of Sharjah Ports and Border Points (SPBP), headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Committee, recently held a coordination meeting with the leadership of the Border Guard Group, headed by His Excellency Brigadier General Faraj Mubarak Al Shamsi, Commander of the Border Guard Group Command (BGGC) in the General Command of the Armed Forces.
The meeting explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, tackle all the challenges, and provide the best facilities for the entry and exit of goods and travelers through ports and border points in the Emirate.

Present at the meeting, held at the Khatmat Milaha Border, were Colonel Dr. Omar Al Owais, Director of Ports Passports Department at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Colonel Ibrahim Saif Al Zaabi, Commander of the Northern Sector in the Border Guard Group Command, Lieutenant-Colonel Walid Muhammad Al-Nahm, Head of the External Areas Ports Section, Sharjah Police, and Yasser Ali Al Shehhi, Director of the East Coast Office at the General Authority for Ports and Borders Security for Free Zones.

The meeting reviewed the latest updates and studies related to the development of this vital sector, especially in Dibba Al Hisn and Al Madam ports, and ways to overcome the challenges and shape a future vision related to the development of the ports across Sharjah.

While welcoming the attendees, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi said, "This meeting comes as part of the strategic partnership between the two sides in order to improve the performance of ports and border points in the Emirate of Sharjah, optimize operations, streamline procedures and develop services for customers and travelers.

This comes in line with the strategy of the Government of Sharjah aimed at advancing the work system in all the ports of the Emirate, in a way that contributes to developing and facilitating the movement of trade and ensuring its sustainability. 

The meeting also reflects the spirit of integration and harmony among all concerned parties for the permanent development and advancement of the performance of all the ports of the Emirate of Sharjah, he added.

Al Raisi noted that further meetings will be held in the upcoming stage with all the competent authorities operating at the ports and border points, with the goal of strengthening partnership and cooperation mechanisms and ensuring the activation of security and customs controls and procedures, in addition to regulating the entry and exit of people and goods according to the highest international standards.
