Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) announced the departure of four players from Sharjah’s clubs to Spain on Sunday, July 25, 2021 to enter a professional trial period with Rayo Vallecano, one of the first-class clubs.
This comes as part of SSC’s plans that aim to support young talents, open opportunities for professionalism, and invest in relations with international clubs.
The players are: Ahmed Sorour, Abdulrahman Juma, Khaled Salem and Ahmed Amer. The players are subjected to a professional period for evaluation by the club with the possibility of permanent contracting for the players of choice.
On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), indicated that joining the players to the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano is among SSC’s objective to encourage young talents to enter the doors of professionalism in the best international leagues.
His Excellency added that such efforts are in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, in supporting athletes and sports.
