Sharjah 24: The 5th edition of the Al Dhaid Dates Festival witnessed the launch of one of its first events, which is the “Al Ikhlas” dates and the largest "Athaj" competitions. The committee organising the event identified a number of conditions that must be met to participate in the competition, including weight and local production.
The first activities of the fifth edition of the Al Dhaid Dates Festival, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), are taking place over 4 days at the Al Dhaid Expo Centre.
Rashid Muhair Al Ketbi, Chairman of the committee, indicated that the committee set a number of conditions for participation in the "Al Ikhlas" dates competition, including: that it be of local production in the United Arab Emirates for the year 2021, and that the weight be 4 kg or more.
Regarding the competition for the largest "Athaj" in relation to the weight of the "Athaj", he added that it must be 35 kg or more, and that it be of local production for the year 2021, and the necessity of taking the oath and submitting identification papers.
