WHO delegation wraps up its visits to govt agencies in Sharjah

Sharjah 24: The World Health Organisation delegation visited the House of Wisdom in Sharjah and the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park). These visits conclude the delegation’s evaluation of Sharjah in the Healthy Cities Programme, which the second evaluation of the city of Sharjah after it was declared a ‘Healthy City’ in 2015.
Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muhairi, Director General   of the Sharjah Health Authority, confirmed that the field visits of the World Health Organisation team to assess Sharjah as a healthy city had ended. The visits were to several places, including the Sajaya Young Ladies in Sharjah, the Muweileh Suburb Council, the Family Health Promotion Centre, Bee’ah, House of Wisdom, and Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park).

In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Al Muhairi said that the prevailing impression of the World Health Organisation team is one of fascination and happiness, after witnessing the commitment to and observance of health such as water, sanitation, food safety, air pollution and health development in the regions and places that were visited during the tour.

The Director General of the Sharjah Health Authority added that the closing session was held with the working groups, the Executive Committee and the Coordinating Committees, to discuss the visits made by the WHO team and the general impression of the visit as well as the evaluation of the files.
