Al Khalidiya Council honours winners of its Quran Competition

Sharjah 24: Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, affiliated to the Sharjah Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs (SDSVA) honoured the winners of its fifth “Ratel” Quran competition, launched in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, with the participation of 58 contestants (boys and girls), as part of the Council’s periodic activities.
The competition was launched with the generous sponsorship of Al-Ghanim Real Estate, and the joint cooperation with Manar Al-Sabeel Centre for the Memorisation of the Noble Quran. The Council also honoured a number of parents at its headquarters in Sharjah on Sunday evening, who had supported the participation of more than one child in the competition.
This honouring came with the aim of appreciating the efforts of parents have encouraged their children, urging them to win in the competition, as well as motivating them to recite and memorize the Holy Qur'an. The Competition has seen a big turnout of Khalidiya young girls and boys. The initiative coincides with the Council’s vision to continue its annual organisation of the Holy Qur’an memorisation competitions during the month of Ramadan, aiming to encouraging children to memorize the Holy Qur’an during the holy month.
The total amount of cash presented as prizes to the contestants and participants in the competition reached (80,000 eighty thousand dirhams). The Council welcomed the children and their parents at the council’s headquarters with taking all the precautionary and preventive measures taken due to the current circumstances of the virus.
Commenting on this, Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Khalidiya Suburb Council, accompanied by a number of dignitaries honoured the winners of the competition at the headquarters of the Council. The Council also honoured the all the participants who took part in the competition with cash prizes to motivate and encourage them to participate in the next editions of the competition.
Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Khalidiya Suburb Council, affirmed the success of the competition running for the fifth year in a row. Al Marri noted that the Competition has seen a big turnout of Khalidiya young girls and boys.
Al Marri extended thanks to the generous sponsorship of Al-Ghanim Real Estate, and praised the joint cooperation with Manar Al-Sabeel Centre for the Memorisation of the Noble Quran for providing supervisors and Quran teachers to monitor the Holy Qur’an memorisation sessions and to motivate children to memorise the Noble Qur’an.
