Sharjah 24: His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, attended the 2021 CMAS Finswimming Senior World Championships, which started on July 3, in Tomsk, whereas he was invited by the World Underwater Federation (CMAS), and participated in the coronation of the winners in the presence of the Deputy Governor of Tomsk and the Minister of Sports.
Al Hazami’s participation was in the framework of cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council, on the sidelines of the meeting that was held recently in Sharjah between the President of the Council and Anna Arzhanova, President of the World Underwater Federation, and Geoffrey Borg, Executive Director at the International Mind Sports Organisation (IMSA) aiming at opening prospects for cooperation between the two parties and  developing water sports in Sharjah.

His Excellency Issa Hilal indicated participating in the 2021 CMAS Finswimming Senior World Championships reflects the interest of Sharjah Sports Council to cooperate with CMAS after the recent meeting held in Sharjah, where this step came based on the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to attract young people and to invest in modern sports facilities, which will be followed by steps to encourage diving in open water and closed halls.

His Excellency added that such championships provide an opportunity to discuss ways of fruitful cooperation with the leadership of the CMAS and to discuss hosting championships in Sharjah through the SSC, which represents a success in itself by nominating the Emirate to host international championships which reflects the great efforts made at the sports level.
