Sharjah 24: The Child and Family Protection Centre of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) received 729 urgent and non-urgent reports in the first half of this year.
The Child and Family Protection Centre, according to Amina Al-Refai, Centre’s director, provides specialised psychological support for abused children and those who have ended up losing social care through assessment, counselling, and rehabilitation programmes with the goal of erasing the effects of abuse, treating their psychology, and changing their behaviour.
The centre strives to protect the rights of children and individuals who do not have access to social services.
The 800700 helpline receives reports of people without social care who are in danger, abuse, or assault, and all incoming communications are replied to, and appropriate protection steps are performed.
The Centre uses social media for educational and awareness campaigns aimed at youngsters.
