Sharjah24: His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Butti Al Muhairi, Director of the Sharjah Health Authority, Chairman of the Executive Committee for Healthy Cities Expansion Committee in Sharjah, confirmed the readiness of the work teams for field visits and to discuss the file of requirements for expanding the scope of the Healthy Cities Programme, which follows international standards, and will be subject to evaluation next July by the World Health Organization, addresses 9 main themes.
This was during the virtual meeting held by the Healthy Cities Expansion Committee in Sharjah, in the presence of representatives of government agencies within the Sharjah Healthy City Programme.
Dr. Al Muhairi praised the great role played by various government agencies and departments in Sharjah in preparing the file and fulfilling the requirements that lead to achieving the objectives of the programme to provide a sustainable healthy environment in accordance with the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The Executive Committee discussed, during its meeting, which was held via video communication technology, preparations to receive the World Health Organization delegation to complete the evaluation process within the Healthy Cities Programme, which will extend over a period of 3 days, including evaluation sessions and field visits to facilities.
The committee chose several places in the emirate to conduct field visits to inform the delegation of representatives of the World Health Organization, with the aim of highlighting the great role and government efforts to implement these health, educational, environmental and comprehensive topics, in addition to reviewing the emirate’s success stories, especially in light of the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee pointed to the importance of starting the implementation of the media plan and promoting the file (Sharjah is a healthy city), which comes within the efforts of the Executive Committee in preparation for the evaluation, the Committee reviewed the results of the internal evaluation for the month of June 2021, which dealt with the most important figures and statistics for the work of the Committees.
