SDHR qualifies job seekers for the tourism

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR), in cooperation with the Skyline University College, Sharjah, organised a specialised programme "Qualifying a Tour Guide", targeting 32 male and female job seekers holding a university degree and listed in the SDHR system.
The programme consists of a comprehensive training that qualifies members to gain skills and learn about tour guiding in Sharjah, in accordance with international standards for tour guiding. SDHR will implement the programme according to regular courses and groups throughout 2021.

The programme, offered by Skyline University College, includes theoretical workshops through Microsoft Teams, and practical workshops through a virtual tourism programme.  The programme aims to provide participants with knowledge that will promote the Emirate of Sharjah as a tourist destination, introduce participants to the best work behaviours and customer service, and provide them with data, economic and statistical information on the tourism and hospitality industry.

His Excellency Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Human Resources Directorate (SHRD), explained that the focus on qualifying job seekers in the tourism sector comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah aiming at investing youth energies in Sharjah strategic initiatives and infrastructure projects, most notably the tourism expansion. 

Bin Khadem shed the light on the importance of of such programmes in preparing national professionals to work within the vital strategic tourism sector, in a way that supports the emirate's directions and expansion in this field.
