Sharjah24: The Department of the Punitive and Correctional Institution (DPCI) of Sharjah Police has launched the “Smart Monitoring” project, using artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, and motion sensors, which is concerned with monitoring inmates around the clock.
This came in support of the National Strategy for Quality of Life 2031 in the axis of a developed country, and in order to achieve the objectives of the Sharjah Police, in line with the strategy of the Ministry of Interior aimed at enhancing security and safety.
Brigadier General Ahmed Abdulaziz Shuhail, Director of Sharjah's Punitive and Correctional Institution affirmed the institution's keenness to develop its available capabilities, using international best practices, by adopting various plans, programs and strategies.
The system works to determine the vital indicators of facial expressions and moods, such as anger, joy, sadness and various emotions, and to predict these vital indicators of the face, using a large amount of data and smart technologies, so that the system begins with automated analysis processes, and indicates the expected situation, and gives an alert to employees.
