Sharjah 24: The 'Aman Ya Beladi' radio show, which is produced by the Sharjah Police's Media and Public Relations Department, discussed security and safety standards on beaches in today's broadcast.
Jamal Abdullah Al Mazmi, Head of the Sharjah Municipality's City Cleanliness Monitoring Department, spoke about the City Appearance Department's responsibilities, which include monitoring the city, monitoring behaviour that detracts from its appearance, and educating the public on the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

He also discussed the municipality's beach security and safety requirements, as well as educating the public about the preventive requirements, such as riding a water scooter adequately, swimming in designated areas, avoiding areas prohibited due to rip currents, and wearing a life jacket during the summer season.

He also discussed the municipality's role in monitoring scoters' rental outlets and their dedication to preventive regulations to restrict the pandemic's spread, as well as ensuring that water scooters are permanently sterilized before and after usage.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Kamali, a member of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club's Board of Directors, also spoke on the phone, stating that “the club's management organizes weekly inspection campaigns, taking into account to focus on the areas where water shows are carried out by riders, such as the Sharjah Mamzar Corniche, or the Khorfakkan Corniche.

Jassim Muhammad Al-Shehhi, Director of Customer Service, spoke about the municipality of Kalba's supervisory role, as well as safety protocols and regulations for beachgoers, in order to limit the number of drowning accidents that occur on beaches each year.

On the security side, Lieutenant-Colonel Walid Al-Yamahi, Head of the Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, spoke to the programme via phone, explaining the role of the Kalba Comprehensive Police Station in ensuring the safety of beachgoers during the summer, as part of the rational government directives. He advised parents and families to keep an eye on the sea and their children in order to avoid drowning accidents.
