Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) of the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), has concluded the eighth edition of the Professional Diploma Programme in Restaurant Development, with the participation of ten trainees of small project-entrepreneurs working in the restaurant and hospitality sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The two-week virtual programme focused on building excellence in hospitality projects in the country, criteria for successful restaurant management, restaurant growth strategy, market analysis, cost and pricing, sales development offers, and how to manage cash flow and liquidity. In addition to studying and analysing a collection of inspiring experiences and success stories in restaurant management and competition leadership.
“The Foundation organises this diploma, which was launched in 2017, for the fifth year in a row, with the aim of helping young people who wish to start and establish start-up projects in the restaurants, coffee, and hospitality sectors, and motivating them to invest their hobbies and passions,” said Hamad Ali Al Mahmoud, Director of Ruwad.
He went on to explain that the new capabilities provided by the country's recruitment firms assisted in the provision of the necessary and appropriate manpower to manage and operate projects.
He revealed that the number of food sector projects supported by Ruwad amounted to 345, with 18 projects receiving funding worth a total 5,877,000 dirhams.
