Sharjah Police bust wedding at Khorfakkan home without a permit

Sharjah 24: The Eastern Region Police Department arrested a person who held a wedding party in his home, in Khorfakkan, without a permit, in violation of Resolution No. (38) of 2020 on enforcement of penalties for violations following the Cabinet Resolution No. (17) of 2020 to contain the spread of the corona virus, COVID-19.
Sharjah Police confirmed that a wedding party was interrupted for having more than the allowed number of people to gather and ignoring safety measures. Sharjah police said that the person organised the wedding, without a permit from authorities, and failed to adhere to the precautionary measures prescribed. The arrest came after a video of the gathering went viral.
The wedding was held without social distancing and without prior permission from the competent authorities. The case was referred to the Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Prosecution. The Sharjah Police have urged the public to cooperate with the authorities by reporting violations of precautionary measures aiming at preserving health and safety of citizens and residents in all cities and regions of Sharjah.
