Al Khalidiya Council provides AED2.3mn to needy families last year

Sharjah24: His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiya Suburb Council in Sharjah, revealed that the council has provided two million dirhams and 343 thousand to needy families living in the areas of Al Khalidiya suburb and to charitable organisations and institutions during the past year, especially with the start of Coronavirus pandemic period.
He pointed out that this year, the Council continued to implement its initiatives as well as provide support to 163 families in the suburb, implementing fourteen initiatives and activities that reinforced the council’s role in strengthening its communication with families and community members during the current year.

This came during Al Marri's hosting of the Sharjah TV Channel on the Amasi programme, which is broadcast by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in the episode that was shown Monday and presented by the journalist Muhammad Al-Raisi.

His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, confirmed in his meeting in which he reviewed the entirety of the activities and programmes implemented by the Suburb Council during the past year and this year, which was a translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al-Marri said that the council implemented an initiative from you and to you, where the affluent people of the suburb contributed to providing support to the needy families living in the suburb to provide 800 different food commodities, from which 200 families benefited.

He also touched during the topics presented in the seminar that the council provided an amount of 45 thousand and 300 dirhams to 186 workers and employees on the International Day of Workers, where Al-Marri communicated with them and congratulated them and provided them with hospitality himself.

Khalfan Saeed Al Marri revealed at the end of the meeting that the council, in light of its cooperation with the Sharjah Police General Command and its approval of the initiative, will form a committee of retired volunteers who worked in the police corps to play a role in coordination with the security authorities to prevent crime and provide a safe environment, and educate individuals about the dangers of social deviations.
