“Over the years and nearly 50 years ago, we grew faith in the hearts of our sons and daughters so they can find comfort. God Almighty says (Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort), then we started to add science, which is the pillar of peoples progress. Universities and scholarships are in every field. Moreover, we filled souls with culture, and culture disciplines the souls. Some say: Thank you Sultan for what you have offered. I would say, the bowl is flooded, because this is my preoccupation.

In his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, discloses the most important pillars of the Sharjah civilisation renaissance achieved under the leadership of His Highness for half a century, namely, faith, science and culture. This enlightened experience is led by wisdom and the advancement of society by adhering to values, and ensuring knowledge and culture.

This wise trilogy is what Sharjah, sons and daughters followed for many years, according to a planned approach, vigorous follow-up, unlimited interest given by all officials under the leadership of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, who is knowledgeable about the society development, the source of reassurance of its members, and the pillars of the advancement of peoples. Therefore, these values are the light that show the way that will lead sons and daughters to civilization, while they rely on the values of society, originality, morals, and faith in God, who is the beginning of wisdom and guides hearts to righteousness.

Belief in God was the beginning, which is the highest level of souls stability, cooperation, and leading the right path. Hence, different institutions took on the responsibility for discipline and spreading the love of reading and the written word. Libraries grew and reached every home in Sharjah, and all institutions, and youth and children institutions, providing a complete picture on the strategy of the smiley emirate and its path to a better future.

The second pillar of the smiley emirate’s development plan is science. Sciences institutions spread across the emirate, from nursery to the highest university degrees, so that Sharjah would become the city of science. The dear fatherly advice of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah has always been “Encourage your sons and daughters to love science and books, so that they grow educated, as the future is only for educated societies”.

According to the same planned approach, Sharjah has completed the trilogy of improving society, through culture. As His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah explained, culture disciplines the soul. It is an integral sentence, which means adhering to the right actions, relying on virtuous values, and adopting everything that is honest, sincere and scientific. The interest in all types of reading, arts and literature, which deepen man’s knowledge, awareness and view of the surrounding world. Thus, Man would become a conscious person, allowing him to live a decent life and gain a promising future.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah continued his speech saying that the bowl is flooded, which is the responsibility that His Highness bears, and seeks to achieve for the people of Sharjah in terms of sustainable development; scientific and religious institutions; and everything that would contribute to the development and progress of society. 

Thus, His Highness confirms that there are lots and lots of continuous construction and development in Sharjah, and that is why people say: Thank you Sultan.
