"We recommend whoever wants to be a journalist, to be educated, well learned, and true to himself, his word is sincere, and his reference should be to institutions that may feed him the true information. With his giving he can help us in two ways: First presenting the issue and its problem, Second, giving us new information, this is my recommendation.
The words of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, came during a meeting with Arab media representatives, at Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Centre for Gulf Studies (Dara), 2018.
With a word from the heart, His Highness addressed people of media showing high appraise and respect to this great career, which officials have deservedly attached high attention to being a pivotal and key partner in the development march of the society through promoting its awareness and knowledge and by contributing to its sustainable development, opening communication channels with its members, and supporting all its rehabilitation programmes as well as disseminating meanings of unity and cooperation among the members of the society.
Addressing media people and those associated with social media, His Highness accentuated several points that focus on the personality of the journalist and the profession itself. He enumerated the various qualities a true and good journalist should have, stressing that a journalist should be educated, knowledgeable and true to himself, his word should always be true.
With these words, His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, would like to present whoever works in this field full responsibility in order to empower him to reach the ultimate giving in his career.
In his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah addressed an important aspect, which is controlling the media work in general supported by the information given by research and scientific institutions, in order to mark the journalist one of the community sources for public opinion, which provides evidence, conclusions and recommendations, and writes what benefits the community, the great history, the present, and what it seeks in the future.
His Highness concluded his speech to the journalist by reaffirming the great services provided by the media in all its forms to officials who strive to develop the society.
